The Worlds2017 ambassadors

The Worlds2017 ambassadors are part of the competition event, they can give out tickets to a group of their choice and so give them the gift of a unique experience. Here we introduce you to the ambassadors of the 2017 ISU World Championships.

Waltteri Torikka

Waltteri Torikka is one of the most popular Finnish opera singers and performers. He will be performing the Finnish national anthem in the Opening Ceremony. Read more

Noora Räty

Noora Räty is one of the all-time best goalkeepers in women's ice hockey. Räty has tended the goal for the Finnish women's national ice hockey team at three Olympics and several World Championships. Read more

Kiira Korpi

Three-time European Championship medalist Kiira Korpi is now pursuing the second act of her career as a professional skater on ice rinks around the world. At the moment, she lives in New York. Read more.

Laura Lepistö

During her figure skating career Laura Lepistö earned a bronze medal at the World Championships, gold at the European Championships and placed sixth at the Olympics. Since ending her career in 2012, she has remained an integral part of Finnish figure skating and partcipates in many sports projects.

Leena Lehtolainen

Leena Lehtolainen is a renown Finnish author, whose works have been translated into as many as 29 languages. Lehtolainen is best known for her crime novels, but as a well-known figure skating fan, she has also written two non-fiction books on figure skating. Read more.

Kenneth Greve

Kenneth Greve works as Artistic Director at the Finnish National Ballet and Opera. He will choreograph a number for the opening ceremony of the Worlds, which combines ballet and figure skating. Read more.

Diandra

Diandra rose to fame as the winner of the sixth season of the Finnish singing competition Idols in 2012. She will be performing the official song of the 2017 World Championships "Light Up the Ice". Read more.

Lenni-Kalle Taipale

Musician Lenni-Kalle Taipale has composed original music for the Opening Ceremony together with Kalle Torniainen. In Lenni-Kalle’s words, every piece of music in the opening ceremony is “their vision of the theme of light expressed through musical notes”. Taipale is also active in figure skating through his daughter. Read more.

Susanna Rahkamo and Petri Kokko

Susanna Rahkamo and Petri Kokko have made Finnish figure skating history with up to four ISU Championships medals, making them the most successful Finnish ice dancers to date. During their career Rahkamo and Kokko not only pushed their own limits, but also the limits of ice dance. The couple still enjoys following ice dance. Read more.
